April's vacancy highlights (roofed accommodation)

Spring temperatures can be tough to predict, which is what makes April a great month to stay in a cabin or yurt!

Whether it rains, snows or shines, you’ll have a cozy home base for your outdoor adventures.

Accommodations featured below were available as of March 12, 2024.

Algonquin Provincial Park (Mew Lake) — yurts (6), cabins (4)

Yurts (6)

Each yurt is equipped with a table and chairs, as well as two sets of futon bunk beds (sleeps up to six). The yurt has electrical heat, fluorescent lighting, and one electrical outlet. Outside, yurt sites are equipped with a picnic table and fire pit.

Cabins (4)

Each camp cabin is equipped with two sets of bunk beds and sleeps up to five.

Inside the cabin, campers will find a table and chairs and a broom and dustpan. The cabin has propane heat, fluorescent lighting, and six electrical outlets.

Outside, camp cabins sites are equipped with a picnic table and fire pit.

Note: barbecues are not available at this time.

Arrowhead Provincial Park – cabins (13)

Just outside Huntsville, 2 hours from Toronto, 1 hour from North Bay

These rustic one-room cabins sleep five, and include a dining table and chairs. Amenities include a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, coffeemaker and counter space.

Outside you will find a gas barbecue and picnic table. A propane/electric fireplace provides additional comfort.

Killarney Provincial Park — yurts (6), cabins (2)

1.25 hours from Sudbury, 4 hours from Toronto

Each yurt sleeps six people on two sets of bunk beds; each a double lower mattress and twin upper mattress. Inside, each yurt has lighting, electric heat, and a power outlet.

Outside you will find a propane barbecue, two picnic tables, and a fire pit. Yurts Y3, Y4, Y5, and Y6 also have an outdoor dining area with roof. A metal bear-proof food storage locker is available at each yurt.

Parking is available nearby but not on the yurt site. A wagon is available to transport your gear to the yurt. Vault privies are located very close to the yurts and a comfort station is a short distance away.

Cabins (2)

These are rustic one-room cabins with wood interior and a screened-in front porch.

Each cabin sleeps five between a queen bed and double/single bunk bed. They feature a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, coffeemaker, kettle and counter space. There is a dining table and chairs for inside meals.

Outside you will find a gas barbecue and picnic table. A propane fireplace provides a cozy temperature and atmosphere inside.

MacGregor Point Provincial Park — yurts (6), cabins (10)

3 hours from Toronto, 2.5 hours from London

Inside Macgregor Point yurt.

Each yurt at MacGregor sleeps six people on two sets of double/single bunk beds. Inside the yurt campers will also find a table and chairs, lighting, electric heat and an electrical outlet.

Outside visitors are provided with a firepit, kitchen shelter, picnic tables, and propane barbecue with side burner. A comfort station with drinking water, flush toilets and showers is available year round.

Each cabin sleeps five people on a quality queen-sized bed and double/single bunk beds.

The cabins feature a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, and counter space. There is a dining table and chairs for inside meals.

Outside you will find a gas barbeque and picnic table. A propane/electric fireplace provides additional comfort.

Pinery Provincial Park – yurts (6), cabin (8)

1 hour from London, 3 hours from Toronto

These eight-sided tent-like structures are heated, furnished and available year-round. Inside each yurt, visitors will find two bunk beds to accommodate six people, a table and four chairs, electric lighting, and a heater for cool weather camping.

In addition, you will find a gas barbecue outside for cooking, a fire pit, and a picnic table on the site. A comfort station with flush toilets, showers, and laundry facilities is located nearby.

These cabins sleep five on a queen bed and double/single bunk bed. High quality mattresses will provide a comfy night’s sleep. Each cabin features a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and counter space.

There is a dining table and chairs for inside meals. Outside you will find a gas barbecue and picnic table. A propane/electric fireplace provides additional comfort.

2.5 hours from Thunder Bay

Stay in one of these cabins and enjoy a waterfront view, quick access to hiking trails and the fresh northern Ontario air. Outhouses and flush toilets are just a short walk away.

Be some of the FIRST visitors to stay in Quetico’s brand new camping pods!

Amenities include electric heat, a queen sized bunk bed that sleeps four, and a barbecue. Vault toilets are located near the pods.

Drinking water is not available in the winter. Please pack your own.

Sandbanks Provincial Park – cottage (1), heritage house (1)

Shores of Lake Ontario, 2.5-3 hours from Ottawa and Toronto

Jacques Cottage

This one-and-a-half-story cottage includes a fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV, wood fireplace, barbecue, and propane. Cottage sleeps four. Bedding and towels are supplied.

Maplerest Heritage House

Nearby to park trails, beaches, and day-use facilities, this four-bedroom Victorian home is furnished with antiques. Equipped with everything you need for a luxurious Sandbanks vacation.

Sleeping Giant Provincial Park — cottages (5)

1.25 hours from Thunder Bay

These barrier-free cabins are located in the park on the shores of Marie Louise Lake.

Each cabin has three bedrooms, a washroom with large shower, a fully equipped modern kitchen, propane fireplace, and heated sun porch. Pots, pans, cups, mugs, dishes, cutlery, kettle, coffee maker, pillows and linens are provided. One campfire pit and one picnic table are located outside of each cabin.
