Southeastern Ontario

Bon Echo Provincial Park

Bon Echo offers six stunning trails that show off the natural features of the park. If you couldn’t get a spot during the park’s busy summer months, fall might be your moment!

Charleston Lake Provincial Park

Charleston Lake Provincial Park is open until October 18, 2026

Charleston Lake is an ideal family camping destination

It offers excellent boating, fishing, wildlife viewing, and hiking. The 2.6 km Sandstone Island Trail features incredible geology, overhanging cliffs, and a rock shelter that was used around 1,200 years ago by the Indigenous peoples of the area.

Darlington Provincial Park

Darlington Provincial Park‘s campground is open until October 18, 2026

Are you in the GTA and looking for a quick getaway? Look no further than Darlington!

Spot birds migrating south, hike one of four available trails, or relax on the beach and listen to the waves crash into shore.

Fishing is a popular activity for the whole family in Darlington’s McLaughlin Bay. You can even borrow fishing rods and tackle at the park store through the TackleShare program!

Ferris Provincial Park

Ferris Provincial Park is open until October 18, 2026

Home to the Ranney Gorge suspension bridge, Ferris offers gorgeous panoramic river views, great hiking trails, and makes a great basecamp to explore Northumberland County.

See the best views from the River Gorge Trail, a 3.5 km loop that takes you along the river’s edge and over the bridge – a must-see while camping at the park!

Murphys Point Provincial Park

Murphys Point Provincial Park‘s Fallows Campground is open until October 13, 2026

Murphys Point is known for its beautiful natural environment on Big Rideau Lake, excellent fishing, wildlife viewing, and Discovery programming.

With two beaches, five hiking trails, and rentals available, there’s activities to suit all campers!

Southwestern Ontario

Inverhuron Provincial Park

Sauble Falls Provincial Park

Sauble Falls Provincial Park is open until November 1, 2026

Sauble Falls is the perfect spot to wet your line this fall! Anglers have the opportunity to hook salmon and Rainbow Trout well into the fall season.

Perfect for families, Sauble Falls’ children’s adventure playground, horseshoe pit, and volleyball area offer plenty of activities late into the fall season.

Central Ontario

Arrowhead Provincial Park

Arrowhead Provincial Park‘s Lumby Campground is open until October 12, 2026

Arrowhead Provincial Park is the perfect fall getaway, offering spectacular Muskoka fall colours, scenic hiking trails, and convenient access just minutes from downtown Huntsville.

Extend your camping season with multiple campground options. Lumby and Roe Campgrounds are open until October 12, while East River Campground remains open until November 8, giving you even more time to experience autumn in the park.

Explore approximately 21 km of hiking trails leading to iconic destinations like Big Bend and Stubb’s Falls, take in breathtaking views of the changing leaves, and enjoy everything the Muskoka fall season has to offer all while being just a short drive from local shops, restaurants, and attractions in Huntsville.

Fitzroy Provincial Park

This cozy park is bursting with wildlife in the Ottawa and Carp Rivers. Rent a canoe or kayak and enjoy the fall colour views while paddling through the campgrounds. The park’s two hiking trails span 3 km and offer QR codes for an interactive learning experience.

Located at the beginning of the Ottawa Valley, Fitzroy is perfect for convenient daytrips to the Capital or to enjoy the sweeping views and experience of the small towns of eastern Ontario.

Mara Provincial Park

Mara Provincial Park is open until September 28, 2026

Enjoy more time with Lake Simcoe’s best sandy beach at Mara Provincial Park!

Mara offers private campsites, a great beach and a swimming area for your dog too! This family friendly (and beginner-friendly) park offers a playground and amenities like restaurants, shopping, and a casino close by.

Northeastern Ontario

Esker Lakes Provincial Park

Esker Lakes Provincial Park is open until September 27, 2026

This quiet, family-oriented park sits just northeast of the historic mining town of Kirkland Lake in northeastern Ontario. In the fall, the birches, aspens, and tamaracks put on a show of “boreal gold.”

Rent a canoe or kayak and take in their stunning 29 spring-fed lakes. Many are stocked with trout, and some have Northern Pike!

Fairbank Provincial Park

Fairbank Provincial Park is open until September 20, 2026

What’s better than waterfront sites? Waterfront sites in the fall! Fairbank features a number of waterfront sites, with many allowing campers to launch their canoe or kayak right from camp!

Their one hiking trail is short, but it’s a beauty! The panoramic views of Fairbank Lake and the surrounding hills and forest are outstanding and worth a selfie or two.

Finlayson Point Provincial Park

Finlayson Point Provincial Park is open until October 12, 2026

On a small peninsula surrounded by the waters of Lake Temagami, Finlayson Point Provincial Park is a great basecamp for family exploration!

Boat, fish, and paddle Lake Temagami — there’s no wrong way to experience this big lake! Don’t forget to check out the Temagami Fire Tower, just west of the park.

Fushimi Lake Provincial Park

Fushimi Lake Provincial Park is open until September 27, 2026. Roofed accommodations are open until October 13, 2026

Fushimi Lake is an angler’s delight!

This park is known for its Walleye, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, and Lake Whitefish. After reeling them in, the fish cleaning hut located by the boat launch makes cleaning easy!

Canoes, kayaks, and stand up paddleboards are also available for rent.

Kap-Kig-Iwan Provincial Park

Kap-Kig-Iwan Provincial Park is open until October 12, 2026

This picturesque little park showcases the best of the boreal forest, with awe-inspiring water features that can’t be missed!

Kap-Kig-Iwan’s Englehart River tumbles through a gorge, filled with waterfalls and cataracts, making a spectacular backdrop for the park’s hiking trails. It’s also a great time to spot birds and other wildlife preparing for winter!

Marten River Provincial Park

Marten River Provincial Park is open until October 12, 2026

Marten River really brings the history! Visit the Winter Camp, a replica logging camp that brings a bygone era to life.

Enjoy remnant stands of massive pines, including a 350-year-old White Pine as you walk the Transition Trail.

Don’t forget to picnic at one of the three park beaches, engage in a beach volleyball game, or enjoy a friendly game of horseshoes!

Nagagamisis Provincial Park

Nagagamisis Provincial Park is open until September 27, 2026

Nagagamisis Provincial Park contains a 15-kilometre-long lake surrounded by lush boreal forest. The park features a beautiful sandy beach where you can relax and take in the view.

Anglers return year after year to this large secluded lake, drawn by the excellent fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, and Yellow Perch. 

René Brunelle Provincial Park

René Brunelle Provincial Park is open until September 27, 2026

René Brunelle protects the northeast quarter of Remi Lake, one of the largest lakes in the region and once home to one of Ontario’s earliest floatplane bases.

La Vigilance Trail takes you on a short hike along the shore to view Airplane Island and tells the stories of the pilots who flew here.

Wakami Lake Provincial Park

Wakami Lake Provincial Park is open until September 27, 2026

Wakami Lake lies in the heart of northeastern Ontario’s boreal forest. Quiet and far from busy highways and city lights, the night skies are filled with stars, and nature surrounds you every day. 

Hike, paddle, boat, or fish — it’s easy to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle.

Windy Lake Provincial Park

Windy Lake Provincial Park is open until September 20, 2026

Windy Lake is the perfect basecamp to explore Sudbury, home of Science North, an innovative science centre perfect for families, and Dynamic Earth which explores the earth, its rocks, and descend into a hard rock mine for a tour.

Prefer to stick around the park? It’s a great place for kids, with a playground and many spectacular spots for picnics.

A popular boating destination in the Sudbury Area, Windy Lake has a large easily accessible boat launch with excellent Lake Trout, Walleye, Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass fishing.
