These six parks will be extending their camping season this year:
Balsam Lake Provincial Park
Open until October 21, 2019
Whether you’re tent camping, driving an RV, or staying in the park’s luxurious cottage, you’ll find fall coziness everywhere at Balsam Lake.
Follow the Lookout Trail for a panoramic view of the fall colours, or enjoy the crunching of leaves beneath your feet along the Plantation Trail.
Bass Lake Provincial Park
Open until October 15, 2019
Looking to do some late season boating?
Located 10 minutes west of Orillia, Bass Lake is the perfect spot to enjoy some time on the water. Breathe in the crisp fall air along the shoreline or sit back and catch a gorgeous sunset.
Mikisew Provincial Park
Open until October 15, 2019
Sleep in a campground surrounded by mature maple trees in all their fall beauty, or tuck yourself away in a lovely red pine forest with that fresh pine smell. Don’t forget to try out the new disc golf course!
Presqu’ile Provincial Park
Open until October 21, 2019
Presqu’ile is your dream destination for all things birding — spend the fall migration here!
And don’t forget the colours. Walk down to the lighthouse or meander along the beautiful, colourful shoreline!
Rushing River Provincial Park
Open until October 15, 2019
Rushing River is approximately 2.5 hours from Winnipeg and about 5 hours from Thunder Bay. With playgrounds, beaches, hiking trails, and — of course — the rapids along the river, what’s not to love?
Sandbanks Provincial Park
Open until October 21, 2019
Couldn’t get in during the summer? Now’s your chance!
Stay and explore the campground or step out and discover Prince Edward County, from apple and pumpkin picking, to beer and wine tasting, and hunting for treasures while antiquing. Just remember to come on back to catch the incredible fall sunsets!
