New cabin at Kettle Lakes

Introducing Ontario Parks’ first solar-powered camp cabin!

This month, Kettle Lakes Provincial Park unveiled its new cabin, nestled on the shores of a secluded park lake.

The cabin

cabin interior: table, chairs, mini fridge, kitchenette

This new one-room cabin sleeps up to five people, and boasts a kitchenette complete with fridge, kettle and coffee press.

A water tap and vault privies are on-site, and visitors are also welcome to visit the full comfort station (laundry, hot showers and flush toilets) at Island Lake Campground (on the other side of the park).

A propane barbecue sits on the cabin’s front porch for grillmasters. No need to forego the traditional camper s’more — a firepit waits just outside.

gas fireplace

A gas fireplace will keep visitors warm on cool spring or fall nights, and a firepit outside means you can still enjoy dinner (and s’mores) around the campfire.

*Bonus* Your reservation includes free use of a canoe and kayak. Paddle around, or enjoy a lazy afternoon of fishing (this lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout!).

Free PFD and Tackleshare rentals are available from the park.

At night, sit out on the porch and listen to the loons calling across the lake.
