Happy International Youth Day!
Students and youth are the lifeblood of our parks — we couldn’t do without them!
To celebrate the incredible people who make our parks what they are, we want you to meet just a few of our dedicated students and youth from around the province:
Robyn (she/her) and Julian (he/him)
This is both Robyn and Julian’s third year at Sturgeon Bay Provincial Park!
Robyn (left) and Julian (right) are a dynamic team, both helping Sturgeon Bay in the gatehouse and on maintenance. As returning staff, they help to lead the new students and are eager to assist in any way and with any team they can!
Robyn works primarily as a gate attendant, helping to register campers, answer phone calls, sell merchandise, and respond to camper requests. Robyn is also the creative mind behind all of Sturgeon Bay’s posters and boards you may see around the park!
Robyn brings joy and laughter into the gatehouse with every shift and is always happy to share her love and passion for all things outdoors! Robyn is dedicated, reliable, and an important part of the gatehouse team!
Julian works primarily as one of the park’s maintenance staff, helping to clean privy’s, cut grass, maintain campsites, respond to camper requests, and everything in between.
Julian is the guy with the list, always noticing things that can be done around the park, going out, and doing them! Julian’s determination, hard work, and reliability can be seen throughout every shift and his enjoyment of all things Sturgeon Bay can be observed throughout every camper interaction!
Robyn and Julian lend a hand where they can, set an excellent example for other staff, and work hard no matter what task they are completing! These two are an asset to the Sturgeon Bay team!
Nathan (he/him)
Nathan is a creative and enthusiastic student leader within the Discovery team at Grundy Lake Provincial Park.
He creates interesting, unique programs and is always willing to share his brilliant ideas with other team members.
Criona (they/them)
Criona is returning to Grundy Lake Provincial Park for their second year at the front gate and park store.
They are a bright and outgoing member of the team who is always quick to assist campers and co-workers alike.
Their dedication and professionalism helps to make the visitor’s experience memorable.
Patrick (he/him)
Patrick is a valued student on the Sandbanks Provincial Park maintenance team!
Earlier in June, the team was hard at work removing snow fencing along the Sandbanks shorelines — no small task when you consider just how long Outlet Beach is!
Victoria (she/her)
With a background in fossil conservation, and an education in art and biology, no detail is too small for Sandbanks Provincial Park Discovery Student Victoria!
Between programming, Victoria has been applying her skills to restoring the park’s educational materials, from plant models and props to costumes.
Kaitlyn (she/her)
Kaitlyn is enjoying her very first season as a gate attendant at Sandbanks Provincial Park — a park she’s loved visiting since she was a kid!
Her favourite spot? The stunning Dunes Beach, of course!
When she’s on break, you’ll often find her working on her sketching skills.
Trinity (she/her)
Graceful and persevering, Trinity embodies the spirit of the Monarch Butterfly!
With Ecosystems Management Technician training already under her wing, Trinity is currently working toward her BA in Environmental and Natural Resource Studies.
She continues to inspire as a Sandbanks Provincial Park Discovery student, sharing her passion for nature with park visitors every day.
Crystal (she/her)
This is Crystal’s first year working for Ontario Parks. She is loving being a part of the Murphys Point Provincial Park Discovery team, and is especially excited to be involved in the Silver Queen Mine tours.
Chloe (she/her) and Breanna (she/her)
This is Chloe and Breanna’s first year being part of the Ontario Parks team at Murphys Point Provincial Park. They say that the best part of the job is the people. For Chloe working at the gatehouse, she loves meeting new people everyday.
And for Breanna, she says that the maintenance team she works with makes the hard work seem lighter.
Karl (he/him)
Karl has been an outstanding maintenance staff and gate attendant at Missinaibi Provincial Park, consistently demonstrating a strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
His willingness to learn and contribute has made him a valued member of the team.
Conner (he/him)
As a maintenance ranger, Conner has made a positive contribution to the Missinaibi Provincial Park team through his hard work, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
His strong work ethic and cooperative approach have helped support park operations throughout the season.
Chelsey (she/her)
Chelsy has been an exceptional gate attendant at Missinaibi Provincial Park, consistently creating a positive and welcoming experience for park visitors.
Her friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and commitment to excellent customer service have made her an invaluable part of the team.
Bella (she/her)
Bella has been a shining presence in the Wakami Lake Provincial Park store, welcoming visitors with her warm smile and positive attitude.
Her outstanding customer service, dedication, and ability to keep the store running smoothly have made her an invaluable member of the team and a pleasure to work with.
Sibbald Point’s Discovery team

They love finding creative ways to form connections with park visitors through daily programs and interpreting in the park’s Discovery Centre and Eildon Hall Museum.

This team is not only incredibly hard working, but kind, funny, helpful, and knowledgeable, showcasing the importance of young people and their influence on the workplace.
Amelia (she/her)
Amelia has been a valued member of Bon Echo Provincial Park’s maintenance team since 2024, and this year is taking on a unique hybrid maintenance and Discovery role!
Whether she’s helping care for park facilities or welcoming visitors and sharing information at the Visitor Centre, Amelia’s versatility, dedication, and positive attitude help keep Bon Echo running smoothly while creating meaningful connections with guests.
Reed (he/him)
Reed is a first year paddle centre attendant who consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every visitor has a safe and enjoyable paddling experience at Bon Echo Provincial Park.
Whether he’s helping guests get out on the water, sharing local knowledge, or lending a hand wherever it’s needed, Reed’s enthusiasm makes him a valued member of the Bon Echo team.
Michael (he/him)
Michael is a third year gate attendant at Bon Echo Provincial Park whose patience, kindness, and attention to detail help create a welcoming experience for every visitor.
From keeping the gatehouse looking its best to taking the time to communicate thoughtfully with guests, Michael’s quiet leadership and commitment to excellent service help set the tone for a great park visit.
Jack (he/him)
Jack is a familiar face at the Killbear Provincial Park office and gatehouses, known throughout the park for his infectious positive attitude.
Whether he’s welcoming campers, answering questions, or helping a teammate, Jack always brings a smile and has a knack for making others smile too. His friendly personality and dedication to great customer service help make every visitor’s experience at Killbear a little brighter.

From creating engaging and memorable Discovery programs to helping bring special events to life, they consistently go above and beyond for visitors and their teammates.
Their creativity, reliability, and willingness to support others help make the Discovery team stronger every day.
Whether they’re behind the scenes creating social media content or connecting visitors with the natural world, Charlie and Briar play an important role in making Killbear’s Discovery program a success.
